Responsibilities

Join our team as a Distribution Sales Manager for the TPE division.  In this role you will establish, maintain and expand relationships with assigned channel partners.  This role is responsible for achieving sales, volume and profitability, and relationship objectives.  The Distribution Sales Manager will provide a marketing plan for the continued growth of the TPE Division and is responsible for providing market analysis, new product development direction, technical support to customers, as well as advertising and promotion programs for the TPE division within the market segment. Duties include: 

  • Manage multiple distributor relationships, providing support and training to sellers to increase market share of TPE products in all of the market segments
  • Responsible for customer relations management both at the account level and internally with Teknor Apex
  • Manages all duties in close cooperation with cross-functional departments, to include Marketing, Technical, and Manufacturing.
  • Responsible for project management, and coordination of efforts to secure approvals of TPE products.  This effort Includes logistics of product development and commercialization of product.
  • Coordinates with customers and internal resources of Teknor Apex-product specifications and development criteria; and accordingly recommending products and competitive positioning.
  • Solicits potential customers and evaluates opportunities.  Activities include sales territory management, data acquisition and definition thereof.
  • Develops in conjunction with the Marketing Department, customer targets and their applications for development.
  • Reviews efforts, measuring and monitoring progress at accounts, balancing time and resources spent versus potential to be obtained in sales dollars.
  • On an annual basis provides summary of activities, and provides forecasts for budgetary purposes
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Four year degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • Position requires between 6-8 years of sales experience including extensive knowledge of distribution channel management.
  • Experience managing a distributor or working within a distributor preferred
  • Knowledge of compounded TPE materials preferred, knowledge of polymer compounds required. 

 

Travel and Location - flexible but close to major airport for regular national travel (Midwest Region preferred)
