As an Associate Programmer for Business Intelligence (BI) you will be responsible for providing programming support to existing systems and develop new systems to support company objectives.  Specific functions include coding, testing, debugging, implementing and documenting systems.  Duties to include:

  • Develop and implement OLAP cubes, reports, and documentation for end users, including systems and methodologies for report processing for data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Identify data sources, and design and maintain the acquisition, security and integrity of reports by developing strategies and methods using various tools.
  • Adhere to and document report foundation procedures, guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain the quality and security of data as it flows through various systems.
  • Implement and maintain report security user groups’ authentication and authorization.
  • Participate in system integrated testing to ensure software requirements have been met.
  • Assist in creating ETL mapping and process flow, as well as provide daily production support to report processes and end-user community.
  • Work independently with business analyst. Understand the scope for new report requirements and perform changes to existing functionality.
  • Provides timely status updates to the Project team lead.
  • Codes complex programs, test and debug problems, initiates unit and system testing, provides accurate program and system documentation.
  • Answers questions pertaining to reports, data, etc.
  • Runs special reports which generate information needed by other users.
  • Trains users in new or existing systems.
  • Writes status reports and minutes of meetings and communicates to management.
  • Solves problems, which prevent production from operating efficiently.
  • Responsible for maintenance of security system and systems enhancements.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Four year degree or equivalent experience in a field of study such as business and computer science. Entry level degreed candidates will be considered. 
  • 1 + years  Cognos BI technologies experience or equivalent education 
  • 1 + years XML and SQL development experience or equivalent education
  • Experience with document management systems, specifically BM ECM (Electronic Content Management) software, ReadSoft Document Capture software, and Infor DAF (Document Archive Foundation) desired
  • ERP knowledge a plus 
  • Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
