Responsibilities

As a Chemist you will provide direct support to the assigned business through Technical Service, which includes the development of formulations for various applications, product support, product recommendation, customer support and interaction, resolution of customer complaints and trouble shooting.  Duties to include:

 

  • Develop, improve and customize products, formulas, processes and test methods. Maintains all product, process and test methods development records.
  • Provide customer service on matters relating to material performance & troubleshooting
  • Write technical papers and reports and prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, formulas or tests.
  • Specify raw material requirements and establish product specification
  • Supports Manufacturing and Quality Control on quality compliance, trouble shooting, specification development, test method development, scale up trials, process optimization, etc.
  • Provides support to Application Development, Sales and Marketing, and work directly with customers as needed
  • Works with internal and external raw material suppliers to keep up with the latest development in polymer, additives and process technology
  • Active use of R&D supporting tools (LSR, Time Management, Accolade, etc)
  • Exercises good safety conduct in all working environments both on and off site in compliance with safety polices and procedures. Identifies potential unsafe situations and takes immediate actions when applicable. Reports unsafe situations and suggests improvements.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Four year degree in a field of study such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering.
  • Position requires between 3-5 years of related Chemistry experience.
