Responsibilities

Responsible for providing technical and engineering expertise on new projects, equipment and system upgrades, problem-solving, troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and development and implementation of improvements.  Acts as a contributor of engineering expertise, problem solving, analysis, and rational thought to project teams and groups throughout the organization.  

 

  • Design and draft new equipment installations and modifications for existing equipment (extruders, feeding systems, dust collectors, pelletizers, blenders, etc.) at our various plant locations.
  • Capital Project Management - design, develop, implement and manage multi-million dollar capital projects.
  • Establish all aspects of a project from start to finish - prepare budget, monitor performance, report statuses, locate sources for equipment and supplies, manage contractors, work with vendors for equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing plants to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Design processes for potential projects.
  • Establish specifications for contract work and oversees implementation.
  • On a daily basis, provides technical expertise and problem-solving skills to attain desired results.
  • On a daily basis, contributes expertise, problem solving and analysis to project teams and group throughout the organization.
  • On a daily basis, develops project design, selects and procures materials, and manages the activities of plant and contractor personnel.
  • On a daily basis, recommends and implements upgrades to systems and equipment throughout the facility.
  • On a weekly basis, documents critical aspects of project details and events.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • 1-5 yrs of Plant/Project Engineering experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in equipment design and installation in a plastic processing/compounding or batch processing environment preferred.    
  • Ability to provide disciplined engineering in design process.
  • Ability to solve problems through new procedures, systems, design modifications or recommending alternative equipment
  • Experience with establishing best design and equipment recommendations to meet the needs of stakeholders.
  • Track record of successful management of capital projects.
  • Travel: Up to 2 weeks per year
