Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager for the Vinyl division you will be responsible for identifying new markets and customer opportunities for the assigned segment(s); completing market analysis, developing and implementing strategic market plans for selected opportunities, and achieving sales and profit growth in the new markets and opportunities.  Additionally, you will identify product development requirements to support strategic marketing plans for the new markets, lead and manage the CTC projects for targeted programs and transition successfully commercialized customers to our field sales team to support ongoing business.   If you like the challenge of exploring new markets and applications this is an excellent opportunity to join the largest division of a stable and growing company. 

 

  • Develops and directs assigned divisions activities for new business opportunities at identified target accounts, including both corporate and manufacturing locations.
  • Researches and qualifies new companies to convert to Division customers
  • Coordinates with Technical, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing the overall requirements for successful commercialization of new customers.
  • Coordinates with Director of Marketing and Business Development and industry management to satisfy both the company and target new customer needs.
  • Develops and coordinates quotations for bids.
  • Attends and works various trade shows.
  • Directs and stipulates the sample materials. Follows trials at customer location on an as needed basis.
  • Negotiates the terms of sale of products.
  • Negotiates the terms of claim settlement and disputes with customers i.e., short payments, pricing discrepancies, etc.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Four year degree in field of study such as chemistry, business, engineering or marketing, MBA preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of commercial sales, business development or marketing experience in polymer industry.
  • Strong understanding of plastics market, knowledge of PVC market and applications preferred
  • Proven track record of success gaining entry into new markets and customers
