    In this role you will be the leader of the shift, responsible for safety, efficiencies, quality, production and cleanliness of the Plant.  The following functions are expected, but may also include other relevant responsibilities:


    • Ensure daily production requirements are met.
    • Obtain set-up sheets for products.
    • Organizes the work and controls the flow of production on each shift
    • Monitors production process in relations to control limit. Reviews data and interpretation of data for tends and corrective action.  Follows-up and validates effectiveness of any adjustments to the process.
    • Oversee the safe operation of all equipment at all times
    • Troubleshoot and operate equipment as required
    • Work with all operators to maintain a smooth and productive process flow
    • Computer entry of shift performance on daily production report
    • Understand/follow/enforce all company rules and policies at all times
    • Work overtime and different shifts if necessary
    • Ensures Line Operators are trained and are performing their job tasks safely and in accordance with required procedures; provides feedback on a regular basis.
    • Approve and edit employees’ work time in the Kronos Time and Attendance System.
    • Conducts Skills Assessments and annual Performance Appraisals for Line Operators.
    • Works with the Production Manager in developing performance improvement plans or disciplinary action for an employee if needed.
    • Monitors and approves time sheets for Line Operators.
    • Participates in interviewing for all new Line Operators.
    • Provides day-to-day supervision of the Line Operators on shift.
    • Participates in Safety Meetings and Behavioral Safety Program.
    • Prepare equipment/ raw materials/ people for future runs before immediate need.
    • Follow applicable procedures, work instructions, and test methods to perform and maintain records on in-process production testing and Q.C inspection and Color matching laboratory testing.

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year previous experience in production or manufacturing preferred.
    • Familiarity with plastic extrusion equipment preferred
    • Must be certified in forklift operations
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Good working knowledge of computer skills, i.e. excel, data base, etc.
    • Must be accurate, conscientious and able to perform multiple tasks.

    Essential Physical Requirements:

    • Physically capable of lifting and carrying 55 pounds
    • Physically capable of wearing a respirator
    • Ability to pass a drug screen and physicians physical examination
