    Responsibilities

    The EHS Manager will be responsible for supporting the facility with an effective EHS program.  Listed below are some key responsibilities but does not reflect all responsibilities of the position.

    • Incorporating safety and environmental plans for the site and analytical labs; which will include emergency response, exposure monitoring, developing and maintaining EHS policies, plant inspections and audits for environment, health, safety and housekeeping.
    • Develops and maintains safety training programs; such as accident prevention program including safety awareness and hazard elimination.
    • Environmental and Company Compliance, stays current with appropriate regulations in helping to design/develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures that assure all environmental needs meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
    • Appropriate environmental and biological monitoring
    • Pollution prevention
    • Regulatory Compliance, OSHA, EPA, etc.
    • Ensure all government, state and local permits are maintained according to requirements.
    • Systematic elimination of potential hazards.
    • Accurate record keeping, recording of safety incidents and investigation of  safety incidents using root cause analysis
    • Facility waste and recycling activity
    • Knowledge of SDS sheets as it pertains to Haz Com.
    • Coordinates activities for Safety Committees including meetings, accident review and analysis, follow-up and safety auditing programs.
    • Works and confers with Corporate EHS.

    Minimum travel. 

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • BS. degree in field of study such as chemistry, environmental health and safety, or engineering.
    • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
    • 4-6 years of EHS experience preferably in a manufacturing operation.
    • Good analytical and problem solving skills
    • Solid communication, presentation and training skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
