    As Business Development Manager for the Chemical Division you will be responsible for identifying new markets and customer opportunities for the assigned segment(s); completing market analysis, developing and implementing strategic market plans for selected opportunities, and achieving sales and profit growth in the new markets and opportunities.  Additionally, you will identify product development requirements to support strategic marketing plans for the new markets, lead and manage the CTC projects for targeted programs, and support ongoing business.  This position reports to the Business Director, Chemicals.     • Develops new business opportunities directly and through Teknor Apex distributors;  identifies high potential new products, coordinates trials and approvals, etc. within new and existing customers
    • Researches and qualifies new companies to convert to Division customers
    • Coordinates with Technical, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing the overall requirements for successful commercialization of new customers.
    • Develops an in depth knowledge of our business and manufacturing capabilities
    • Develops and coordinates quotations for bids
    • Utilizes ERP systems and other methods to develop and analyze sales activity, margins and costs
    • Forecasts sales at new and existing  accounts
    • Attends and participates in Business Team and Sales Meetings
    • Attends and works various trade shows
    • Negotiates the terms of sale of products, and also the terms of claim settlement and disputes with customers i.e., short payments, pricing discrepancies, etc.
    • Coordinates and assists in the development of written customer communication including technical data sheets, price sheets, and promotional literature
    • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • Four year degree in field of study such as chemistry, business, engineering or marketing, MBA preferred
    • Five or more years of commercial sales, business development or marketing experience in chemical industry
    • Strong understanding of chemical marketing; knowledge of lubricant market preferred
    • Proven track record of success gaining entry into new markets and customers
