    Responsibilities

    As Technical Director, this position is ultimately responsible for all the R & D, Technical Service, Manufacturing Technical Support, Quality Assurance and Quality Control at TAAP (Singapore) and TASZ (China). You will serve as a member of TAAP Management Team and Global Technology Leadership Team.  This role will be located in Singapore with frequent travel to China.

    • Manage all technical activity including Technical Service, R&D, Quality and Process Engineering efforts within TAAP and TASZ by setting priorities, direction, goals and objectives for all business groups.
    • Responsible for monitoring, completing, and documenting all projects.
    • Ensures that department goals are consistent and supportive of business goals.
    • Assist in the setting up of systems to monitor progress for various key activities.
    • Assist hiring and training of new Technical employees.
    • Manage individual Technical Groups which includes handling of personnel issues, performance evaluations, and disciplinary procedures
    • Effectively identify, define and procure resources for the growing Technical Group such as manpower, equipment, etc.
    • Ensures adherence to Safety and Regulatory procedures.
    • Works with Corporate Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with global requirements relevant for TAAP businesses.
    • Works with Quality Department to prepare for and facilitate inspections and audits by regulatory agencies and/or clients.
    • With the Managing Director sets budget for Technical, monitors progress, makes changes, and keeps within the budget.
    • Directs evaluation of new materials and vendor quality
    • Has regular interaction with corporate technical departments

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • MS or PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Engineering or Polymer Science
    • Minimum 10-15 years experience in polymers.
    • 5 years in technology management
    • Fluent in English (read, write, speak), Bilingual Chinese preferred
    • Ability to manage a large diverse technical effort
    • Ability to communicate well both verbally and written
    • Technical skills in polymer science and polymer processing
    • Proficient inERP and Lab Management Systems
