    Teknor Apex Tennesse Company located in Brownsville, TN is searching for Compound Operators to join our Plastics department.  


    In the role of Compound Operator you will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Perform all job duties in a safe and productive manner
    • Clean out material conveyors, Banbury, pit, mill and dicer between compound runs
    • Operate Banbury- mill system as scheduled on either compound or scrap production
    • Keep work station clean at all times. Includes hood, pan, dicer house and area as per clean up sketch
    • Maintain a reasonable level of quality production
    • Complete paperwork properly
    • Keep cooking tank empty of foreign material
    • Assist in cleaning other areas with in the department
    • Report any problems with equipment immediately. Including any powder, water, steam and air or oil leaks

    Multiple positions available on various shifts

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • HS diploma or GED
    • Ability to understand and follow various written and verbal instruction related to safety procedures, SOP's, and work instructions.
    • Self- motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.  Ability to work in a team environement
    • Ability to adjust to change and prioritize tasks

    Essential Physical Requirements:

    • Bend, stoop and lean over for extended periods while cleaning equipment  
    • Weigh, stack and stencil 50 pound bags- 5 to a layer - 9 layers to a pallet approximately 20,000 -30,000 pounds per shift. Bending reaching and stretching while assembling boxes.
    • Dump start up drums into back of Banbury weighing approximately 60 pounds with out help can be as heavy as 150 pounds with help
    • Charge ingredients weighing approximately 40-50 pounds into back of Banbury. Can be as frequently as 10-20 times an hour.
    • Climb down ladder/ steps to clean lower Banbury area
    • operate fork and hand truck
    • Ability to climb ladder or stairs
    • Ability to wear required safety equipment
