    Responsibilities

    As a member of the senior staff, the Business Director for the Vinyl Division  will be responsible for overseeing the sales, marketing and business development functions as well as the day to day operations of the business.   Additionally, you will manage a team of sales, account and business development managers to drive new opportunities, follow up on renewals and develop new offerings.

     

    In this role, a key part of success depends upon keeping abreast of the market competitors’ activities and industry trends to develop and implement a high growth strategy.  The successful candidate will lead the team to meet performance goals and strategic goals such as profitability, sales & marketing expenses, inventory, and forecast accuracy.

    • Oversee the Sales, Marketing and Business Development functions as well as the day to day operations of the business.
    • Managed a team of Sales, Accounts and Business Development Managers to drive new opportunities, follow up on renewals, and develop new offering.
    • Review business against budgets with the teams regularly on areas such as forecasting, gross profits, inventory holding, marketing plans and activities and channel strategies.
    • Manage and maintain favorable strategic partnerships with key partners and customers for mutual business benefits, business continuity and sustainability.
    • Strategize the business to achieve objectives by closely monitoring the P&L that are affected by both internal and external factors.
    • Keep abreast of the market competitors’ activities and industry trends to develop and implement a high growth strategy.
    • Provide guidance and training to improve direct and dotted reports staff performance.
    • Provide motivation, leadership and direction to ensure employees achieve their objectives and set KPIs such as sales, profitability, sales & marketing expenses, inventory, and forecast accuracy.
    • Review organizational work flows and processes to improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness and to ensure fast turnaround to support business needs.
    • Work closely with partners/teams to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to drive brand growth.
    • Conduct regular business and market visits to ensure desired direction for brands is carried out and aligned in retail for the overall brand achievement.

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • Ability to manage a large diverse technical effort
    • Ability to communicate well both verbally and written
    • Technical skills in polymer science and polymer processing
    • Fluent in ERP and Lab Management Systems
    • Minimum 10-15 years experience in polymers.
    • 5 years in technology management
    • MS or PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Engineering or Polymer Science
