    Responsibilities

    Join our St. Albans, Vermont team as an Operator. In this role you will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and shutting down of machines i.e. twin screw extruders and dry blenders. As part of our manufacturing team you will be given an opportunity to develop your skills through our training program. You will have opportunities to cross-train and develop new skillsets for a successful career at Teknor Apex Company. 

     

    Duties include:

    • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work area.
    • Maintaining accurate records and notes.
    • Follow test procedures on finished goods and record results that may include; melt flow index, specific gravity, hardness (test stand and handheld), , pellets per gram, color, moisture content, etc.
    • Adhere to proper and safe fork truck operation.
    • Communicate with shift leaders about processing problems and be able to troubleshoot and make necessary/permitted adjustments to fix them as well as document and communicate adjustments according to protocol.
    • Be able to take apart, clean, and reassemble equipment.
    • Assist line mixer and other line operators when needed.
    • Additional duties as required/requested.
    • Work using Lean manufacturing techniques.
    • Use of computers to access information, enter data and document information.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to maximize efficiency of our processes.

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Must be able to lift up to 55lbs
    • Prior manufacturing experience preferred: Forklift experience a plus. Safe and responsible operation of manufacturing equipment
    • Basic math skills
    • Ability to follow and understand written work instructions.
    • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Attention to quality and detail
    • Must be willing to work in a team environment & assist co-workers in various roles within the manufacturing department.

    Available shifts:

    • 3rd Shift -  10:45 pm - 7:00am
